Sandakan Airport to Sepilok

Land, walk out of arrivals, and be watching orangutans within the hour. Sandakan Airport is closer to Sepilok than it is to Sandakan town, which makes flying in the natural way to arrive. The options, the prices, and the flight timings that still make the morning feeding.

Timing it to the feedings
The morning KK departures land in Sandakan between about 08:00 and 09:30. Land by 09:00 and the 10:00 feeding is comfortable: 20 minutes' drive, ten for tickets and lockers, and you're on the deck. A 09:30 landing works only with cabin bags and a car already waiting. Anything later, don't chase it — check in at your resort, do the Sun Bear Centre after lunch, and take the 15:00 session, which is quieter anyway. Full feeding logistics: Sepilok feeding times.
Leaving: Sepilok to the airport
Same 20 minutes, but book it rather than summon it: Grab from the resorts is hit-and-miss and from the orangutan gate at 16:00 worse. Any resort desk arranges a car for a set time; afternoon flights out of Sandakan pair naturally with a final 10:00 feeding and a 13:00 pick-up.
