Sepilok feeding times

Everything in and around Sepilok runs on a handful of fixed times, and a good day is just those times in the right order. Here is every schedule that matters — orangutans, sun bears, RDC dusk wildlife, Labuk Bay — and three ready-made day plans built from them.

10:00 or 15:00?
The morning session usually pulls more orangutans (breakfast is motivating) and definitely pulls more people — the Sandakan vans all aim at it. The afternoon is quieter, the light is warmer, and no-shows are slightly more common. Staying in Sepilok solves the dilemma: do both on one ticket, with the sun bears in between. And remember the honest caveat on every page here: attendance is the orangutans' choice, and on a good fruiting day some skip the platform entirely — see why an empty platform is good news, the honest odds. The nursery is the hedge — young orangutans are almost always visible there.
Can I touch or hold one if it comes close?
No — and here's why that's good. Strict no-contact rules apply even if one wanders onto the boardwalk.
Three ready-made days
The classic (staying in Sepilok): 09:00 at the orangutan gate → 10:00 feeding → 11:30 sun bears → lunch → 15:00 feeding or RDC canopy at 16:00 → 18:00 RDC night walk.
The Sandakan day trip: 08:30 pick-up → 10:00 feeding and nursery → 11:30 sun bears → lunch → RDC canopy → back by 17:00. (By bus: out on the 09:00, back on the 16:00.)
The three-primate day: 10:00 orangutans → 11:30 sun bears → lunch → drive → 14:30 Labuk Bay Platform A → Sandakan by 17:45. Or reversed for photographers: 09:30 at Labuk Bay, 15:00 orangutans. This is our Sepilok + Labuk Bay tour.
Friday
The one wrinkle: the orangutan centre's morning window shortens to 09:00–11:00 on Fridays. The 10:00 feeding still runs; you just have less slack either side of it, so be at the gate at 09:00.
