Sepilok Jungle Resort is the biggest and busiest place to stay in the reserve: a spread of rooms from fan-cooled budget to air-conditioned family units around ponds and gardens, with the only real swimming pool on the road and its own trail network behind, good for casual birding.
The place
Rooms vary widely — see what you're booking — but the setting carries it: boardwalks over carp ponds, monitor lizards on the lawns, and the Banana Café doing simple meals with a jungle view. It sits between the wildlife centres and the RDC, roughly ten minutes' walk to either, which makes it the practical base for doing everything on foot.
Why stay here
Families (the pool, the room range, the prices), birders (the back trails), and anyone doing the full Sepilok program on foot. Light sleepers should ask for a room away from the tour-group blocks in high season.
